To qualify, you need to be an active Geekdom member for at least 90 days prior to the application close date, have a legally formed company, and be giving back to the Geekdom community. Companies must be an LLC, CCORP, or SCORP. Non-profit companies are not eligible.
A selection panel reviews all complete and eligible applications. Five finalists are chosen to advance to the next stage. Finalists are evaluated on their business model, use of funds, and Geekdom mission fit.
Finalists have five minutes to pitch their business to a selection panel comprised of guests from the San Antonio tech and entrepreneurial community, followed by a 5 minute Q&A with the panel. The selected company is announced to all Geekdom members at our Community Pitch Day event!
The application includes information about yourself (the applicant), your company, a URL to a 3-minute application video, and file upload of your pitch deck.
Your application video should address the following questions:
1) What problem are you solving? For whom? How?
2) How is this a novel idea?
3) How will the $25,000 investment impact your company and the Geekdom community?
Your deck should give a short summary of your company, your business plan and your startup vision. PDF is preferred.
