(San Antonio, Jan. 13, 2023) Entrepreneurs have a new monthly opportunity to learn, network and be inspired at San Antonio Startup Day, powered by Geekdom, beginning Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 8:30 a.m. at 110 E. Houston St. The full day of programming is free and open to the public. Registration is required and available at https://geekdom.zohobackstage.com/SanAntonioStartupDay.
“Our 2022 San Antonio Startup Week was a great success, and we want to deliver that same kind of impact more frequently, not just once a year,” said Charles Woodin, CEO of Geekdom. “Our team is committed to growing San Antonio one startup at a time, and we recognize to do that, we need to give entrepreneurs consistent access to the resources, mentors and ideas that fuel a vibrant startup ecosystem.”
“Beginning a business is hard. We want San Antonio Startup Day to be the best first step for anyone interested in our local startup scene and the resources it offers. We invite attendees to learn from other founders, meet experienced investors and experts, and network with leaders in our ecosystem,” said Phillip Hernandez, Chief Operations Officer at Geekdom and executive director of SA Startup Week.
The first SA Startup Day will begin at 8:30 a.m. with coffee and networking on Geekdom’s eighth floor in the Rand Building at 110 E. Houston St. Geekdom members Amy Lynn of The Dog Guide and Gabriel Garcia, co-founder of SA Creatives will share their entrepreneurial journeys in the Startup Spotlight. Zahra Cruzan, founder of Brand Author, will share marketing insights. Geekdom’s program director Matthew Espinoza and Iris Gonzalez of Startups San Antonio will share San Antonio ecosystem updates during the San Antonio Startup Day happy hour. The day will culminate with a fireside chat with Geekdom Entrepreneur in Residence and co-founder of Skipcart, Ben Jones, hosted by Geekdom board chair Cat Dizon. San Antonio Startup Day and San Antonio Startup Week are supported by the 80|20 Foundation. The next San Antonio Startup Day is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 22.
